Two wedding photography quotes in Delhi can differ several times over, and both can be perfectly fair. The number on a quote is shaped by a handful of decisions you make about your wedding. Here is what they are, so you can compare quotes calmly and ask the right questions.
We have deliberately left prices out of this guide. Rates change from season to season and from studio to studio, and a figure without context tends to mislead more than it helps. What stays constant is the set of things that move the cost up or down.
1. How many days, events and hours
A Delhi wedding is rarely a single day. Mehendi, haldi, sangeet, the wedding itself and a reception can easily stretch across three or four days, sometimes with two events on the same date. Each event needs a team that arrives early, stays late and then spends days on the edit.
The simplest way to shape the cost is to decide which moments genuinely matter to you. A small, family-only haldi at home may need one photographer for two hours; a sangeet with performances and a large guest list needs far more. Sharing a clear event list, with approximate timings and guest numbers, is the single most useful thing you can send a photographer before asking for a quote.
2. The size and make-up of the team
A quote for "a photographer" and a quote for "a team" are not comparable. For larger celebrations, a well-run team might include a lead photographer, a second photographer for the other side of the family, one or two filmmakers, and an assistant handling lighting and backups. Aerial footage, where permitted at the venue, adds another person and more planning.
When you compare quotes, ask exactly who will be present at each event and what each person's role is. Ask too whether the photographer whose work you admired will personally be shooting your wedding, or whether it will be another member of the studio.
3. Photographs, films, or both
Photography and film are two separate crafts, with separate people, equipment and editing. A full wedding film, a short highlight film, a teaser for social media and raw event coverage are four very different pieces of work. If you would like to see the difference, our wedding films show how a story is built from a day.
Decide early which of these you will actually watch again. Many couples find a well-made highlight film and a longer, complete edit of the main ceremony more meaningful than hours of footage they never open.
4. Experience, style and the edit
Much of what you pay for happens after the wedding. Candid photography depends on anticipating moments rather than arranging them, and that comes with years of practice. Then comes the edit: selecting the strongest frames from thousands, correcting colour and skin tones consistently across different lighting, and sequencing the story so it reads naturally.
The best way to judge this is to look at complete weddings, not highlight reels. A full gallery shows you how a photographer handles a dim banquet hall, a crowded mandap during the pheras and a quiet moment with grandparents. Browse a few of our real weddings with that in mind, and ask any photographer you shortlist for the same.
5. What you receive, and when
Deliverables vary widely and are often where two quotes quietly differ. It helps to ask, in writing:
- How many edited photographs to expect, roughly, for each event
- Whether you receive an online gallery, high-resolution downloads, or both
- Whether printed albums are included, how many pages, and who selects the photographs
- Which films are included and their approximate length
- The expected delivery time for previews, photographs, films and albums
Albums in particular involve design, proofing and printing, so they add both time and cost. There is no right answer here, only the one that suits how you will enjoy the photographs later.
6. Your date and the season
Demand is not spread evenly across the year. Many families choose dates from the Hindu panchang, and these auspicious dates cluster. For the coming season, one widely used panchang calendar lists marriage muhurat dates between 21 and 26 November 2026 and between 2 and 12 December 2026. Different calendars and family pandits can give slightly different dates, so treat any list as a starting point.
On the most popular dates, experienced teams across Delhi NCR are booked well in advance, and availability rather than price is often the real constraint. If your date falls in a busy window, it is worth starting conversations early rather than paying a premium for whoever is still free.
7. Venue, travel and destination weddings
Within Delhi, Gurugram and Noida, travel between venues is usually straightforward, though a farmhouse wedding on the city's edge, or events spread across the region on one day, still affects scheduling and the number of people needed. If you are planning in a particular part of the region, our Delhi wedding photography page, along with our Gurugram and Noida pages, covers what to expect locally.
Destination weddings add travel, accommodation and meals for the whole team, as well as extra days on either side for travel and recce. Ask whether these costs are included in a quote or billed separately, so you are comparing like with like.
How to compare quotes fairly
Once quotes arrive, line them up against the same questions:
- Which events are covered, and for how many hours each?
- Who is on the team at each event, by name and role?
- Which photographs, films and albums are included?
- What are the delivery timelines?
- Are travel and accommodation included?
- What happens if timings run over, which they often do?
A quote that looks expensive often turns out to include a second photographer, a film and an album that a cheaper quote leaves out. The reverse is also true. The aim is not to find the lowest number, but the team whose work you love, at a scope that fits your celebration.
